While a common pelvic floor dysfunction may arise from pre-natal and post-partum pregnancy, there are a number of less common diagnosis and dysfunctions that can also present with pelvic floor pains including but not limited to muscle imbalances/weaknesses, spine and spinal cord injuries, menopausal changes, cancers and post-cancer treatments.  These conditions can present with such symptoms and dysfunctions as urinary or fecal incontinence and/or control, pain and burning in the lower back and hip and groin region, and painful intercourse.
